Police continue to search for stolen BMW in Sigulda; there is a lead

Police continue the search for the BMW stolen at a gas station in Sigulda.

On Thursday, March 26, it was reported about a BMW that a thief took right under the owner's nose at a gas station in Sigulda. On Friday, March 27, a man spotted the car in Riga with foreign license plates and reported it to the authorities, but the perpetrator managed to escape once again before the police arrived, according to the show Degpunktā (TV3).

The stolen BMW was parked in Riga on Zalisha Street on Friday, March 27, in the middle of the day. The car was noticed by Edgars, who likes BMW cars. On Thursday, March 26, he saw information about the theft online. At that moment, there was no one inside the vehicle. The man called the police and took a photo of the car.

"I saw a post on TikTok and took pictures while passing by. I wasn't going to chase — that's probably not my duty. I called the police at 12:08, and they arrived here after 1:00 PM. The front part is smashed," said eyewitness Edgars. "Yes, there is enough courage to drive around — back and forth, with different license plates."

While the thief remains a step ahead of the State Police, to change this, the show Degpunktā urges everyone to be vigilant and, if you see the car shown on the screen, report it to the police and the owner at the numbers 28750505 or 112. The car's license plates may have been replaced again.
