The State Police, rescuers, and volunteers continue the search for Sofia Sara Kundetska (born 2009) in the Daugava area, who may have fallen into the river from the Stone Bridge.
The State Police's Public Relations Department explained to the LETA agency that the Riga Municipal Police, responding to a request from the State Police and reviewing surveillance camera footage, established that on March 17 in Riga, a person possibly fell from the Stone Bridge.
Currently, extensive search operations are ongoing. They involve employees of the State Police, the State Fire and Rescue Service, the volunteer organization Bezvests.lv, as well as volunteers. The search is being conducted on the Daugava both on the water and along the riverbanks. Drones are also being used in the search efforts. The search will continue and will not be halted.
The State Police expresses gratitude to everyone participating in the search activities.
It was previously reported that Sofia Sara Kundetska, born in 2009, left an educational institution in the Marupe region on March 16 around 15:00, and since then her whereabouts have been unknown.
Law enforcement officials reported that the girl may have been in the Old Riga area, but her location has not yet been established.
