The mayor of the Moscow region's Star City, Yevgeny Barishevsky, is suspected of receiving a large bribe (paragraph "v" part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). This was reported with reference to law enforcement agencies. Details of his case are not disclosed.
Investigators submitted a petition to the Tver Court of Moscow for Barishevsky's arrest, but the court rejected it. The official has been placed under house arrest.
Barishevsky has held the position of head of Star City since 2017. Previously, he was the head of Lobnya and headed the administration of Orekhovo-Zuyevo.

Yevgeny Vasilyevich Barishevsky was born on September 18, 1981, in Balashikha, Moscow Region. In 2000, he graduated from the Moscow College of Architecture and Construction Management with a degree in Urban Cadastre. In 2007, he graduated from the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering with a degree in Urban Construction and Economy. In 2011, he graduated from the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation with a degree in Management Sociology.
From 2004 to 2008, he was the project leader of the youth labor squads of "United Russia" called "We Live Here." In 2006, he became the winner of the "PolitZavod — 2006" project for the Moscow region.
From 2007 to 2010, he was the head of the Moscow Regional Headquarters of the All-Russian Public Organization "Young Guard of United Russia." In 2009, he became the coordinator of the project "Personnel Reserve – the Professional Team of the Country" for the Moscow region.
From 2009 to 2011, he served as a deputy in the Moscow Regional Duma.
From 2011 to 2014, he was the first deputy head of the Moscow Regional Branch of the "UNITED RUSSIA" Party.
From 2014 to 2016, he was the head of the administration of the urban district of Orekhovo-Zuyevo in the Moscow region.
From 2017 to 2018, he was the acting head of the administration of the urban district of Star City in the Moscow region.
On November 16, 2018, he was appointed by the deputies of the Council of Deputies of the urban district of Star City in the Moscow region as the head of the urban district of Star City in the Moscow region for a five-year term. According to the law, he heads the administration of the urban district of Star City in the Moscow region.
On November 19, 2021, he was appointed by the deputies of the Council of Deputies of the city of Lobnya in the Moscow region as the head of the city of Lobnya in the Moscow region for a five-year term.
On October 7, 2022, he was appointed head of the urban district of Star City in the Moscow region for a five-year term.
He has been elected twice to the Moscow Regional Duma. He worked in the Committee on Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities, and Energy.
He has received letters of gratitude from a member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, a Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Governor of the Moscow Region, and the Moscow Regional Duma. He was awarded the badge of the Moscow Regional Duma "For Assistance to the Law."
Star City (official name; previously Shchyolkovo-14) is an urban-type settlement in the Moscow region, forming a closed administrative-territorial formation and urban district. The Yuri A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center is located in the settlement. It is situated near the Tsialkovskaya platform on the Mytishchi — Fryazево railway, 25 km northeast of Moscow. The population is 7,569 people.
