The Food and Veterinary Service (PVS) detected cyanides in apricot kernels of Afghan origin during border control, according to information published by the PVS.
The service notes that 157 milligrams of cyanide per kilogram was found in apricot kernels of Afghan origin, with a potential margin of error of 47 milligrams per kilogram.
The PVS indicates that the batch was intended for the Netherlands.
A notification about the identified violation has been placed in the European Union's rapid alert system, and the competent authority of the Netherlands has been informed for further action.
The PVS is a state institution under the Ministry of Agriculture, which carries out state supervision and control in the field of food circulation and veterinary medicine.
