In the Moscow region settlement of Gorki-2 in the Odintsovo district, a teenager attacked students at a school with a knife on Tuesday, December 16. According to the Investigative Committee (SK), the minor injured a security guard and one of the students. The child, who was ten years old, died from the injuries sustained.

According to law enforcement, the attacker is a ninth-grade student and was detained at the scene. Before the attack, he sprayed a gas canister. The other students were evacuated, and ambulance crews arrived at the building.

According to RIA Novosti, the attack occurred at the Uspenskaya Secondary School. Sources report that after the incident, the area around the educational institution was cordoned off.

The publication MSK1, citing the Ministry of Information and Youth Policy, reports three injured individuals. This information was confirmed by the Children's Rights Commissioner in the Moscow region, Ksenia Mishonova. "Law enforcement agencies are working at the scene. All assistance and support will be provided to children and adults. The motives for this crime are being investigated," she stated.

The Telegram channel Mash published a video recording of the attack. The footage shows a young man with a knife approaching a group of schoolchildren and talking to them. When the security guard tries to stop him, the attacker sprays the gas canister, after which he stabs and chases the children.

According to a source from RBC in law enforcement, various versions are being considered, including murder out of personal animosity and possible ideological motives. The teenager is being checked for involvement in extremist movements.

Law enforcement agencies are examining the attacker's social media and trying to establish the reasons for the incident. "It is already clear that a number of expert assessments will be appointed, including a psychiatric evaluation," a source from RBC reported.

Investigators from the Main Investigative Department of the SK for the Moscow region have initiated a criminal case under the articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on murder and attempted murder. "Currently, investigators and forensic experts from the regional Investigative Committee of Russia have arrived at the scene. All circumstances of the incident are being established," the agency reported.
