They Have Fallen Low - The Ratings of Most Politicians in the Riga City Council Have Decreased 0

Most politicians in the leadership of the Riga City Council faced a drop in ratings in the first half of this year, according to the results of a survey conducted by SKDS on behalf of the Riga City Council.

The popularity of only three politicians increased in May compared to November of last year.

The most significant drop in ratings was experienced by the head of the Committee on External Affairs and Mobility of the Riga City Council, Marta Kotello ("Progressives"). Her rating decreased from 2.4 to minus 11.3, a drop of 13.7 points. She is currently the politician with the lowest rating among the leadership of the Riga City Council.

The chairman of the Committee on Security, Order, and Corruption Prevention, Girts Lapins (National Alliance), also lost popularity. His rating fell by 8.6 percentage points to minus 6.6.

The third fastest drop in ratings was recorded for the vice-mayor, Edvards Ratnieks (National Alliance). His rating decreased by 7.1 percentage points to minus 7.1.

The rating of the mayor of Riga, Viesturs Kleinbergs ("Progressives"), fell by 6.9 percentage points to 2.2.

The rating of the chairman of the City Property Committee, Dainis Locis (National Alliance), in May was minus 1.2, which is 3.7 percentage points lower compared to the survey results from last autumn.

The rating of the chairman of the City Development Committee, Edgars Bergholcs ("United List"), decreased from 2.6 to minus 1, a drop of 3.6 percentage points.

The rating of the chairman of the Committee on Housing and Environment, Elina Treyja (National Alliance), decreased by 1.1 percentage points to 1.7.

The chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs, Inese Andersone ("New Unity"), maintained a positive rating from voters in the latest survey, with her rating at 1.9. However, she also experienced a slight drop in her rating of 0.7 percentage points.

The greatest increase in popularity was experienced by the vice-mayor, Vilnis Kirsis ("New Unity"). His rating increased by 7.1 percentage points since autumn, reaching a positive rating of 2.

The rating of vice-mayor Maris Sprindžuks rose by 3.3 percentage points to 0.8.

The chairman of the Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports, Laima Geikina ("New Unity"), is the most positively rated politician among the leadership of the Riga City Council. Her rating increased by 0.4 percentage points since last autumn, reaching 2.9.

The survey was conducted in May of this year through face-to-face interviews at the respondents' residences, with 804 registered residents of Riga aged 18 to 75 surveyed.
