According to an American notary, he only certified the signatures of the parties without certifying the content of the document itself.
Anna Sedokova is in big trouble. A criminal case is being attempted against her under the article on fraud.
On the night of December 16 to 17, 2024, Latvian basketball player Janis Timma passed away. Since then, the athlete's relatives have been trying to bring his ex-wife, singer Anna Sedokova, to justice. Shortly before Timma's death, the vocalist sold property acquired jointly with him. It is noted that in the real estate transactions, Anna used legally invalid documents.
Janis's family lawyer, Margarita Gavrilova, stated that the marriage contract presented by the performer as proof of her rights when selling the apartment is fictitious. According to an American notary, he only certified the signatures of the parties without certifying the content of the document itself.
"The family's defense intends to hold Sedokova accountable for document fraud, as the registration authorities of the Russian Federation were also misled. We are currently preparing a statement to law enforcement, as she knew and understood the illegality of her actions, but through deception and abuse of trust sought to gain benefit for herself," Gavrilova said.
Now, Janis's family is demanding the annulment of all transactions made by Sedokova, which she concluded using the allegedly fictitious marriage contract. Among other things, it stated that all property removed from civil circulation, including real estate acquired before, during, and after the marriage, belongs to Sedokova. Gavrilova mentioned that it was right after the contract was signed that Anna changed her attitude towards her husband and insisted on a divorce.
Margarita made another statement. She emphasized that Sedokova was informed by the American notary that the marriage contract was onerous.
"Timma lived under the deep conviction that there was a legitimate marriage contract; she convinced him of this. According to this contract, he owes her something for life. Whatever he buys, he will have to give it to her. In other words, a person took advantage of a trusting relationship, I would say feelings, and in a 90s style, deceived the victim. In my view, this is a gangster scheme," Gavrilova said.
The Timma family's defense is preparing a statement to initiate a criminal case under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against Sedokova. "In addition, our company has appealed to the judicial authorities to challenge all transactions conducted by Sedokova using the marriage contract and to recover from Sedokova half the value of all assets she received after the sale," Gavrilova added.
