On Thursday, November 6, border guards in the Balvi and Ludza regions detained two Russian citizens who illegally crossed the state border from the Russian side, the State Border Guard reported to the LETA agency.
During the verification of the received information, border guards discovered a citizen of Russia in the Zhigurskaya parish, and the second one in the Zaleskaya parish.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against these individuals for intentionally crossing the external state border illegally.
An administrative process has also been initiated against the person who illegally crossed the border in the Zaleskaya parish for violating the rules of stay in the border zone.
