The country's Prime Minister Golob warned against inciting hatred.

The Roma in Slovenia are few in number, but recently they have instilled fear in those around them. "The criminal is a product of a dysfunctional system. He was raised to kill other people out of pure malice. It will take more than one generation to re-educate such individuals," said Slovenia's Prime Minister Robert Golob after the murder in Novo Mesto.

In this small town in southeastern Slovenia, a 21-year-old Roma inflicted such serious injuries on a 48-year-old father, who came to help his aggrieved son, that doctors were unable to save the man's life.

"Unfortunately, we are forced to take retaliatory measures," concluded the Prime Minister. "These measures will not be popular, but they will lead to serious changes." At the same time, Golob warned against inciting hatred, especially by calling on the population to take up arms.

There have not been crimes in Slovenia that have stirred such passions for a long time. Anger erupted due to the criminal's Roma background.

A party was held at the LokalPatriot club in Novo Mesto, lasting until dawn the next day. Well past midnight, one of the attendees desperately called his father and asked to be picked up because he was being threatened by a group of people. Without hesitation, the father jumped in his car and rushed to the scene. As the man was leaving the club, he was attacked by Roma. One of them inflicted serious head injuries on him. Rescuers managed to revive him, and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
