On Monday at around 15:18, a passenger in a car attempted to shoot an arrow into the prison grounds using a crossbow, to which a package was attached — a plastic wrapping containing an object resembling a mobile phone and a powdery substance of unknown origin, reported Vaskane.
Two men were detained at the scene — the passenger and the driver of the vehicle, born in 1984 and 2003. Both had previously come to the attention of the police.
A criminal process has been initiated regarding the incident under the second part of Article 309 of the Criminal Law — for the illegal transfer of items or substances to persons in custody.
The day before, a similar attempt was made — an arrow with an attached package was found on the prison grounds.
The prison administration notes that the transfer of prohibited substances and items to inmates is punishable administratively or criminally. This year, over 200 attempts to deliver prohibited items to places of detention have already been recorded using various methods, including throws and drones.
The police continue to investigate, clarifying the circumstances of the incident and the composition of the substance.
