A Latvian citizen wanted by the police was detained at Riga Airport, the State Border Guard reported to LETA.
The person arrived from Germany.
He was detained and handed over to the State Police.
At other border control points, entry into Latvia was denied to two citizens of Belarus, two from Moldova, and one from Russia for security reasons. All were returned to their countries of departure.
LETA also reports that yesterday the State Border Guard prevented attempts by seven individuals to illegally cross the Latvian-Belarusian border.
A total of 10,979 people have been apprehended this year for illegal crossing of the Latvian-Belarusian border. At the same time, for humanitarian reasons, 26 illegal migrants were allowed to cross the border.
