Another 38 Attempts: The Flow of Illegal Migrants from Belarus Continues 0 21

So far this year, there have been 10,462 attempts to illegally cross the border, and for humanitarian reasons, 25 people have been accepted in Latvia.

Due to the ongoing flow of illegal migrants from Belarus, the government has extended the enhanced control regime at the Latvian-Belarusian border until December 31 of this year.

Last year, 5,388 attempts to illegally cross the border were prevented, and 26 individuals were allowed to remain in Latvia.

According to the head of the State Border Guard, Guntis Pujats, the situation with illegal migrants at the border with Belarus will remain tense until winter.
