The U.S. Armed Forces, in accordance with President Donald Trump's directive, lifted the blockade on all maritime routes leading to Iranian ports and coastal areas, according to a CENTCOM statement.
"U.S. forces are not impeding the passage of vessels to Iranian ports in the Persian and Oman Gulfs and back. All U.S. efforts to enforce the blockade have ceased," the press service stated.
CENTCOM reported that U.S. military ships will remain in the region to "monitor compliance with all aspects of the agreement."
It is worth noting that Iranian "heavy" oil is traditionally used for diesel fuel production. Additionally, the Saeima of Latvia today postponed the introduction of an increased excise tax on diesel. Thus, today is a small celebration for diesel vehicle owners.
