This is already the second Asian line.

Airbus has put into operation its newest final assembly line for A320 family aircraft in China. This was reported by the Xinhua news agency.

The facility is located in the port city of Tianjin in northern China. This is already the second line of its kind in China and throughout Asia. According to Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, the new line will carry out the assembly of major components of A320 aircraft, including fuselage sections and wings, painting, testing, and delivery of the airliners to customers in China and beyond.

"We welcome the introduction of the second line in Tianjin into our global production system. This will provide us with the necessary flexibility and capacity to achieve our goal of reaching an assembly rate of 75 A320 family aircraft per month by 2027," Faury said at the commissioning ceremony.

Preparatory work is currently underway for the assembly of the first aircraft on the new line.

To date, Airbus's global production network for the A320 family consists of 10 final assembly lines: four in Germany, two in France, two in the United States, and two in China. The Tianjin production facility now accounts for about 20% of Airbus's total global production capacity.
