In May, NATO special operations forces will conduct military exercises in Latvia called "Trojan Footprint 26," which will be among the largest special operations exercises in Europe, according to the National Armed Forces of Latvia.

The purpose of the exercises is to enhance the capabilities of special operations forces to counter modern threats, including through improved integration with air, naval, and ground forces, as well as practicing compatibility with NATO allies and partners in Europe.

The military exercises will involve the National Armed Forces of Latvia along with units from 12 other allied and partner NATO countries.

The total number of participants in the exercises across all host countries will be around 3,000, making them one of the largest special operations exercises in Europe. The number of those who will conduct special operations in Latvia has not been disclosed.

The scenario of the exercises combines a series of international training on the integration of air, land, naval, cyber, and space operations.
