Import substitution remains the foundation of industrial policy.
AvtoVAZ has submitted an application for the registration of a new trademark Lada Salut to the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).
The application was received by Rospatent on October 14, 2025. This became known from the agency's database. The new brand is planned to be registered in three classes of the international classification of goods and services – No. 9, No. 12, and No. 35. This covers multimedia systems for cars, the cars themselves and spare parts for them, as well as services for providing telecommunication access to third parties.
It was previously reported that the new trademark Lada Yarus has been officially registered by Rospatent and will be valid in Russia until 2035.
Recall that AvtoVAZ presented the new Lada Azimut crossover based on the Vesta platform at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The car was displayed in beige with a black roof and door pillars, and it also received original wheels with a triangular pattern. The company’s press service reported that the name Azimut was chosen as a result of a competition among employees. All development of the car, including the creation of the concept, layout, design, as well as engineering, production, and tuning of driving characteristics, was carried out by Russian specialists.
For the Lada Azimut, almost a thousand new and upgraded parts were created, including body panels, lighting equipment, interior elements, and a new rear suspension.
The serial production of the model will start in 2026. At the initial stage, the crossover will receive upgraded engines with a displacement of 1.6 and 1.8 liters with a power of 120 and 132 horsepower, a six-speed manual transmission, and a CVT. In the future, it is planned to equip the car with a new turbocharged engine with a power of 150 horsepower and a classic automatic transmission.
At the same forum, a new version of the Lada Aura for taxis was presented, featuring a traditional yellow stripe and black "checkers" on the body.
