The Ukrainian Drone Forces inflicted approximately $40 billion in damage to Russian targets in the year following their establishment. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasizing the growing role of drones in modern warfare.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Drone Forces achieved significant results in their first year of operation, inflicting damage on Russian targets amounting to approximately $40 billion.
According to him, drone technologies have allowed for striking targets that were previously inaccessible to conventional weapons or required excessive resource expenditure.
"In just a year since the establishment of the Drone Forces, Russian targets of various levels have already been hit for nearly $40 billion," Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian leader noted that the effectiveness of drones is measured not only by material damage. He stated that the use of drones allows for tasks to be completed with lower risks to personnel and helps save the lives of soldiers.
In recent months, medium-range strikes have begun to play a special role. Zelensky claims that Ukrainian drones are increasingly capable of hitting Russian military logistics targets both in the occupied territories of Ukraine and in the border areas of Russia. The development of such capabilities has become one of the key directions for modernizing the Ukrainian army.
What is important to understand is that over the course of the war, drones have transformed from an auxiliary tool into one of the main elements of combat operations. Today, they are used for reconnaissance, fire adjustment, attacks on military targets, and disrupting the enemy's logistics.
In Zelensky's opinion, the Ukrainian Drone Forces have already become an example for many armies around the world, which are closely studying their application experience.
The president also made it clear that Ukraine intends to continue increasing the production and use of drones.
"We will continue to strengthen the Drone Forces," he emphasized.
Against the backdrop of the ongoing war, the role of drone technologies continues to grow, and competition in the development of new drones is becoming one of the key factors in modern military confrontation.
