The U.S. Chooses a Side: Rubio Made a Statement on Washington's Role in the Ukrainian Conflict

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington cannot be considered an impartial party in the process of resolving the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, the U.S. openly supports Kyiv by supplying it with weapons and maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged that Washington cannot be considered an impartial mediator in the process of resolving the Ukrainian conflict, as it supports Kyiv.

"We are not, to be frank, impartial mediators in this war," he noted during hearings in the House Foreign Affairs Committee, commenting on the progress of peace negotiations regarding Ukraine.

As Rubio explained, Washington continues to openly support Kyiv, including through the supply of weapons and military equipment.

"We are not supplying weapons to Russia. We are supplying weapons only to Ukraine. We are not imposing sanctions on Ukraine; we are imposing sanctions only on Russia. So we have clearly chosen a side," said the head of the U.S. State Department.

Rubio's statement was one of the most direct acknowledgments from American authorities that the U.S. is taking a specific side in the Ukrainian conflict. Meanwhile, Washington continues to participate in diplomatic efforts to find ways to resolve it.
