The opposition 'Belarusian Railway Workers' Community' reported that the Russian complex 'Oreshnik' is located at the former airbase Krichiev-6 in the eastern part of the country.
The Russian complex 'Oreshnik' is located at the former airbase 'Krichiev-6' in the Mogilev region in eastern Belarus. This was reported on Saturday, May 30, by the opposition 'Belarusian Railway Workers' Community' on its website. 'We managed to establish from where and in what composition a large military train arrived from the Russian Federation to the area of the former airbase Krichiev-6 at the end of December 2025 - approximately during the period from December 20 to 29,' the text states.
According to the Belarusian project, the departure took place from the Kapustin Yar station in the Volgograd region, where the namesake missile test site is located. It was from there, according to the Ukrainian side, that the Russian Armed Forces launched the 'Oreshnik' into the territory of Ukraine. Additionally, in February, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a series of strikes on the test site during January.
The 'Belarusian Railway Workers' Community' claims that the sender of the military train was the 4th State Central Inter-Service Test Site (4 GTS) (military unit 15644) - this is the official name of the 'Kapustin Yar' test site - and the recipient was the Military Communications Department of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. The train consisted of 54 flatcars and 7 covered wagons. 'According to available information, military equipment was transported on the flatcars, while supplies were in the covered wagons, and a separate wagon carried ammunition and other munitions,' the authors of the publication continue.
They explain that they have not yet recorded other military trains arriving 'directly at the military infrastructure facility at the Krichiev-6 site': 'As of mid-May 2026, the delivered contingent has not left this facility, and the return of equipment and property has not been recorded.'
Reuters reported on the placement of the 'Oreshnik' at the 'Krichiev-6' base
At the end of December 2025, Reuters, citing two American researchers who studied satellite images, reported that Russia was deploying 'Oreshnik' missiles at the former airbase 'Krichiev-6'. During the analysis of images from Planet Labs, a 'hasty construction project' was discovered, which began between August 4 and 12 of the same year.
A few days later, on December 30, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the 'Oreshnik' missile complex had entered combat duty on the territory of Belarus. A video was attached to the Russian Ministry of Defense's post on Telegram, in which, according to Russian news agencies RIA Novosti and TASS, the 'Oreshnik' was shown for the first time. At that time, the location of the weapons was not officially disclosed.
