Temperature records broken in France and Britain: temperatures significantly exceeded 30 degrees.

Yesterday, a temperature above 34 degrees was recorded in London. Such high temperatures have never been recorded in the country in May. Last night, the temperature in the London area did not drop below 21.3 degrees.

Today, in some areas of the United Kingdom, temperatures may rise above 35 degrees. The average temperature at the end of May in the UK ranges from 14 to 20 degrees.

In May, more than 350 French cities recorded their highest temperatures in decades. In particular, significantly higher than usual temperatures are observed in western France, including Brittany.

Yesterday, the highest temperature in France was recorded in Hossegor, in the southwest of the country. There, it reached 37.1 degrees. The French national meteorological institute described this heat as "early and prolonged."

40 Degrees in Spain

In much of Spain, exceptionally high temperatures for this time of year are also being observed. The Spanish meteorological institute reports that in many places, temperatures could rise to 40 degrees.

Warnings have been issued in several regions. For example, people are advised to turn on fans or air conditioning at night, as temperatures will not drop below 20 degrees.

Meteorologists note that Europe is increasingly facing anomalous weather phenomena and record early heatwaves. Experts warn that such periods of extreme temperatures may become more frequent against the backdrop of climate change.
