US President Donald Trump stated that he does not accept Iran's response to American proposals for ending the war. Despite the ongoing ceasefire, the parties still diverge on key conditions for resolution.
US President Donald Trump sharply criticized Iran's response to Washington's proposals to end the war that the US and Israel have been waging against Tehran since February.
"I just read the response from the so-called representatives of Iran. I don’t like it — it’s completely unacceptable," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
According to the Axios portal, the American proposals were outlined in a 14-point memorandum.
Among the key US demands are the cessation of Iran's uranium enrichment, the restoration of free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and the easing of sanctions if the conditions are met.
Iran, as reported by local media, conveyed its response through Pakistan. Tehran demands an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, an end to the US maritime blockade, and guarantees of no new attacks.
Thus, the main disagreements between the parties remain: the US and Israel insist on dismantling Iran's nuclear infrastructure, while Iran primarily demands security guarantees and an end to pressure.
Despite the tension, the ceasefire is generally being observed for now, although individual skirmishes continue.
Last week, Trump stated that the war could end "very soon," but recent statements indicate that negotiations remain extremely difficult.
Additional pressure on the situation comes from Israel's position. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the war cannot be considered over as long as Iran maintains its stockpiles of enriched uranium and facilities for its production.
For the global economy, the conflict is particularly important due to the situation around the Strait of Hormuz — one of the key oil supply routes.
Iran continues to restrict the passage of vessels through the strait, while the US, in turn, maintains a blockade of Iranian ports.
Against this backdrop, global oil prices remain unstable, and markets are closely monitoring any signs of escalation or progress in negotiations.
It is important to understand: even with a ceasefire in place, the conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran is still far from a final resolution, as the parties demand fundamentally different conditions for ending the war.
