Trump reacted to the attacks on the US fleet in the Strait of Hormuz

The situation around the Strait of Hormuz has sharply escalated again. After the US strikes on Iranian facilities, Tehran announced an attack on American ships, and Donald Trump reported the "destruction" of Iranian forces.

As is known, last night US forces attacked facilities in the ports of Qeshm and Bandar Abbas. Iranian news agencies reported explosions.

In response, the Iranians attacked US warships east of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran claimed "significant damage" to American vessels, while the US Central Command denied this.

"US forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with strikes against Iranian forces as US Navy destroyers with guided missiles passed through the Strait of Hormuz into the Gulf of Oman," the department reported.

US President Donald Trump called the attacks on Iranian ports "just a light strike."

Here is the full translation of Trump's reaction to the events in Hormuz:

"Three world-class American destroyers just passed through the Strait of Hormuz, very successfully, under fire. No damage was done to the three destroyers, but great damage was inflicted on the Iranian aggressors. They were completely destroyed along with numerous small boats that are used to replace their completely destroyed navy. These boats quickly and effectively sank to the bottom of the sea.

Missiles were fired at our destroyers, and they were easily shot down. Drones also came in, and they were burned in the air. They beautifully fell into the ocean, almost like a butterfly falling on its grave!

A normal country would have allowed these destroyers to pass, but Iran is not a normal country. They are run by LUNATICS, and if they had a chance to use nuclear weapons, they would do it, without a doubt. But they will never have that opportunity, and just as we shot them down today, we will shoot them down much harder and much more brutally in the future if they do not sign an agreement QUICKLY!

Our three destroyers with their wonderful crews will now return to our naval blockade, which is a true "wall of steel."

When asked by reporters about the incident and the future ceasefire, Trump replied: "The ceasefire is ongoing. It is still in effect."

As a result, despite the loud statements from both sides, the conflict between the US and Iran remains extremely tense and unpredictable, writes bb.lv. Meanwhile, Washington continues to demonstrate military presence in the Strait of Hormuz area, and any new clashes could further complicate the situation in the Middle East.
