Galina Nenasheva was born on February 18, 1941, in Onega, Arkhangelsk Oblast, her maiden name was Semyonenko. After school, she started in the choir of the Chelyabinsk Opera Theater, then worked on the dramatic stage and in operetta.

Nenasheva's repertoire included powerful lyrical and dramatic lines. Among them were "I recognize the price of paradise, having tasted hell in paradise" in the song "My Unseen One," reflecting the character of her stage image and the themes of songs about fate, trials, and inner strength.

According to biographical publications, in 2020, the artist underwent a complex surgery on her carotid artery. After that, she stated that health had become her main concern.
