The Danger of World War: American Economist Jeffrey Sachs Warns Against Strikes on Iran

American economist Jeffrey Sachs sounds the alarm: the resumption of U.S. military operations against Iran could lead to uncontrollable escalation and global war. This serious warning was voiced on April 25, 2026.

American economist Jeffrey Sachs is urgently warning the United States against resuming military operations against Iran. He emphasizes that such actions will inevitably lead to uncontrollable escalation that could ignite a world war. According to Sachs, if strikes on Iranian territory resume, the Islamic Republic will respond 'very decisively and very quickly.'

In an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, Sachs stated directly: 'We should avoid resuming bombings and military actions. There is a very real possibility of preventing this.' He added that there is another extremely dangerous scenario: 'There is another option — uncontrolled escalation to full-scale war, which could turn into a regional war and then potentially become a world war.'

The economist particularly noted that since the beginning of the current conflict on February 28, it has become clear that the entire Persian Gulf region, including Israel, is extremely vulnerable to potential missile strikes from Iran.
