Trump Demands Immediate Return of $159 Billion in Tariffs Following Supreme Court Ruling

U.S. President Donald Trump firmly stated that the American administration is obligated to return the staggering amount of $159 billion received from import tariffs, referencing a recent and, in his opinion, 'shocking' Supreme Court decision.

U.S. President Donald Trump publicly stated the need for the American administration to return $159 billion collected in the form of import tariffs. He made this statement on his social media platform Truth Social, commenting on the Supreme Court's decision.

— People and companies that have taken advantage of our country for decades now need to return $159 billion due to the shocking and ridiculous decision of the U.S. Supreme Court on tariffs.

Earlier, back in December, the American leader speculated that by 2025, the United States could accumulate around $20 trillion from collecting import tariffs on goods coming from other countries.

On February 20, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Trump exceeded his authority by imposing import tariffs under the guise of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). However, the highest court did not provide clear guidance on whether the U.S. government is actually required to return tariffs that have already been paid.
