The National Mall in Washington became the site of a powerful installation: twenty thousand teddy bears symbolize Ukrainian children illegally taken by Russia, calling on the world for their return.
The National Mall in Washington became the site of a touching and large-scale event. An installation of twenty thousand teddy bears unfolded here, each symbolizing a Ukrainian child abducted by Russia. This powerful composition was displayed outdoors, right in front of the U.S. Capitol.
The toys, crafted in light and red tones, were carefully arranged to form a massive English-language message. It reads: "PUTIN ABDUCTED 20,000 UKRAINIAN CHILDREN. BRING KIDS BACK." Each teddy bear in this poignant installation represents one illegally taken child.
Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Oksana Stefanishyna emphasized that thanks to the Bring Kids Back initiative, more than two thousand children have already been returned. However, thousands of little Ukrainians remain separated from their families and homes.
"Without the return of Ukrainian children, there can be no end to the war or lasting just peace," Stefanishyna stated, expressing deep concern.
Representatives of the American Parliament also joined this important action in support of Ukrainian children. Among them were Senators Amy Klobuchar and Richard Blumenthal, as well as Congressmen Michael McCaul and Jamie Raskin.
Ambassador Stefanishyna also highlighted the need for the strictest sanctions against Russia and its leadership. This is necessary so that they feel the real and unavoidable consequences of their crimes on a daily basis.
