Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, contrary to earlier plans for remote participation, will personally attend the informal summit of European Union leaders in Cyprus. This was reported by the publication "European Truth," citing its own sources.
According to the informants, the Ukrainian leader will travel to meet with European colleagues, which will begin on the evening of April 23 in Cyprus. This visit comes against the backdrop of the expected decision to unblock a €90 billion loan for Ukraine.
It was previously officially reported that President Zelensky's participation would be remote. He will soon fly to Cyprus from one of the European countries.
Key issues of the summit
During the two-day meeting scheduled for April 23-24, EU leaders will discuss key issues. Cyprus, as the current presiding country in the European Union, will host discussions on the geopolitical situation and the formation of the EU budget for the period from 2028 to 2034.
There may also be consideration of "certain aspects" of Article 42(7) of the EU Treaties concerning collective defense. The arrival of heads of state and government is expected to begin at 17:00.
