Teresa Ribera, Vice-President of the European Commission, is convinced that the impressive success of Peter Madjar in Hungary is a direct result of the powerful mobilization of the left and all democratic forces in the country. She emphasized this in her interview with Bloomberg, reported by "European Truth."
A Signal for EU Conservatives
According to Ribera, the recent defeat of Viktor Orban in the parliamentary elections in Hungary should serve as a troubling signal for European conservative politicians. These leaders may be tempted to collaborate too closely with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, but the election results tell a different story.
She stated directly: "The election result was a strong alarm signal for parties that have been tempted by the actions of President Donald Trump or the interference of President Vladimir Putin."
The Return of the Left and Unexpected Allies
Ribera also noted clear signs of a possible return of leftist forces to power in the European Union. She cited the March defeat of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a referendum as one such piece of evidence.
Additionally, the Vice-President of the European Commission mentioned the emergence of unexpected allies in this movement. Among them, she highlighted Pope Leo XIV, whose role is becoming increasingly significant.
The Vice-President of the European Commission added with admiration: "He has become an icon in defending the core values that have defined our society for the past 70 years."
Results of the Hungarian Elections
According to the final results of the parliamentary elections in Hungary, the opposition party "Tisa" achieved an impressive success. It secured a constitutional majority, obtaining 141 mandates in parliament.
