Iran Abruptly Refuses Second Round of Negotiations with the U.S.

Iranian authorities have decided not to participate in the next round of negotiations with Washington, citing excessive and unrealistic demands from the American side, as reported by the Iranian state news agency IRNA.

On Sunday, April 19, the Iranian state news agency IRNA reported the Iranian authorities' firm refusal to engage in a new round of negotiations with the United States. This decision was officially announced by the agency on the social network X, emphasizing: "Iran has refused to participate in the second round of negotiations with the U.S.".

The main reason for this step, according to Iran, is the excessive and unjustified demands from Washington. Other factors leading to the breakdown of dialogue include unrealistic expectations, frequent changes in the negotiating position, and internal contradictions within the American side, as well as the ongoing maritime blockade of Iran.

As of now, there have been no official comments or clarifications from the Iranian leadership on this matter. The situation remains tense, and details of the refusal may become clearer later.
