From the message of the National Police of Ukraine, it is unclear in which area of the city the tragedy occurred. Meanwhile, the Telegram channel "Politics of the Country" reports that the shooter took hostages in the "Velmart" supermarket in the Holosiivskyi district. Citing local public pages, the channel writes that four people died as a result of the attack.

One of the posts also indicates that a fire broke out in the Holosiivskyi district after the attack. Judging by video recordings circulating online, the man fired at random passersby on the street at close range.

Currently, the "Velmart" supermarket is surrounded by special forces.

Klychko: Among the injured is a child

Meanwhile, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitali Klychko, reported on Telegram that among those injured in the armed attack in the Holosiivskyi district is a child. At the time of publication, he was on his way to the hospital.

According to Klychko's post, several people have died as a result of the attack. "The special operation to apprehend the man who opened fire and is currently in the supermarket continues. According to preliminary information, shots are also heard in the supermarket," he writes, quoting "Deutsche Welle."
