The U.S. achieved a 'total and complete victory' after reaching an agreement with Iran on a two-week ceasefire, U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday in an interview with AFP, LETA reports citing AFP.

In a phone call, Trump expressed the opinion that China convinced Iran to start negotiations and noted that the issue of Tehran's enriched uranium would be 'resolved flawlessly.'

"Total and complete victory. 100 percent. There is no doubt about it," Trump told AFP in response to a question about whether he considers the ceasefire a victory.

Given the uncertainty regarding the agreement to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, Trump emphasized that there is a solid foundation for achieving a long-term agreement.

"We have a 15-point deal, most of which has been agreed upon. We'll see what happens. We'll see if it gets done," Trump said.

In his previous statement on the social network Truth Social, the U.S. president indicated that Iran had presented a ten-point proposal that is 'feasible.'

Trump did not clarify whether he would return to his initial threats to destroy Iran's civilian power plants and bridges if an agreement is not reached.

"We'll see," Trump told AFP.

Another important issue is the fate of Iran's enriched uranium stocks after the war, the goal of which, according to the U.S. president, was also to ensure that Iran never obtains nuclear weapons.

However, Trump insisted that any nuclear materials would be covered by the peace agreement.

"This will be resolved flawlessly, otherwise I wouldn't have made the deal," Trump said, without providing specific details about what would happen to the uranium.

Trump noted that, in his opinion, China played a certain role in convincing Iran to come to the negotiating table.

"Heard that they did," Trump said in response to a question about whether Beijing was involved in getting Tehran to start ceasefire negotiations.
