The day after the coalition council, the first working meeting of the government will also take place.

So, already next Tuesday, June 2, the government of Kulbergs will hold its first working meeting. Among other things, it is planned to consider the report of the Minister of Economics, Viktor Valainis, on how the law on startups (new innovative companies) is being implemented. The government will also review the analysis from the Ministry of Economics on the impact of the conflict in the Middle East on the Latvian economy. Notably, during the closed part of the meeting, possible negative scenarios for the economy in the event of a prolonged conflict in the Middle East are expected to be discussed. Additionally, Valainis' department will present a report on monitoring fuel prices on the exchange. Apparently, the discussion during the closed part of the meeting will focus on how to prevent excessive fuel price inflation.

According to preliminary information, the first meeting of the coalition council, consisting of leaders from four ruling parties, is also scheduled for Monday. Kulbergs and his team are expected to discuss possible cuts to the bonus and cash prize fund in public administration, as well as a general reduction in administrative expenses within this year's budget.

As is known, the management of airBaltic promised to present a new business plan in June, and partners may discuss further steps to stabilize the situation in the airline. It is likely that the Minister of Economics will also inform colleagues about the progress of signing an agreement with Swedish shareholders regarding the buyout of their shares in LMT and Tet.
