Trump stated that he said goodbye to NATO because of Greenland.
United States President Donald Trump stated that he said goodbye to the North Atlantic Alliance due to NATO's reaction to the country's desire to control Greenland. The American leader made this remark during a press conference at the White House, which was published on YouTube.
"It all started, if you want the truth, with Greenland. We want Greenland. They don’t want to give it to us. And I said, 'Bye, bye,'" Trump said.
Earlier, the U.S. leader spoke harshly about NATO, stating that the States do not need the alliance. The American leader emphasized that he was very disappointed by the fact that the alliance countries did not help the U.S. in the operation against Iran. He called it "a stain that will never disappear."
