Commissioner Jørgensen urged to travel less and fly less amid the escalating energy crisis.
European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jørgensen has urged Europeans to travel and fly less amid the energy crisis, writes Politico.
It is noted that Europe is preparing for prolonged disruptions in energy supply due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
Jørgensen stated that governments should consider "voluntary demand-saving measures (...) with particular attention to the transport sector."
On Tuesday, March 31, European energy ministers will hold an emergency meeting to discuss ways to address the energy crisis.
Earlier, European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis warned that the growth rate of the European Union's economy could significantly slow down due to the repercussions of the war in Iran.
