Negotiations for a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko are ongoing. This was stated by the American leader's special envoy John Cole in an interview with LRT.

"The negotiations are still ongoing," he replied to a journalist's question about whether the President of Belarus would come to the U.S.

Cole also noted that he would like to see Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda in the U.S. He added that he also wishes for Vilnius to join the World Council organized by Donald Trump.

Earlier, it became known that Minsk is considering the possibility of a meeting between Alexander Lukashenko and Donald Trump. As clarified by the press secretary of the Belarusian leader Natalia Eismont, Lukashenko may also participate in the World Council meeting if it is acceptable for the Belarusian side.
