Chinese Foreign Ministry: The EU must abandon zero-sum thinking.
The European Union should objectively assess China's economic development. This was stated by the official representative of the BRICS foreign ministry, Lin Jian.
According to him, the EU authorities should refrain from protectionist measures and abandon 'zero-sum thinking', adhering to a rational approach in relations with Beijing.
The foreign ministry representative emphasized that his country is ready to be not only the world's factory but also the world's market. In this regard, Lin Jian urged European partners to jointly seize the opportunities presented by the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan. Consequently, the Chinese side advocates for balanced trade development and an open trade and economic environment.
In 2025, China's trade volume with Europe increased by 5.4 percent, reaching over 828 billion dollars.
There are also reports that the increased import tariffs imposed by the United States on Chinese products did not lead to a significant influx of exports from the Asian country to the European region.
