Kallas compared the war in Iran to a love story, explaining the EU's refusal to help the US.

The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, in her speech at the EU summit, compared the conflict in the Middle East to a love story that is easy to get into but hard to find a way out of. This is reported by Politico.

"Starting a war is like a love story. It’s easy to get involved, but hard to get out," Kallas's words are quoted by the publication. With this unusual comparison, according to Politico, the head of European diplomacy explained the reluctance of EU states to engage in the military campaign of the United States, despite their interest in opening the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, during her speech, Kallas reiterated that EU countries have no intention of extending the mandate of the EU naval mission in the Red Sea, Aspides, to the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier, retired French General Michel Yakovlev compared participation in the coalition to protect the Strait of Hormuz to buying a ticket on the Titanic after the ship had already hit an iceberg. According to him, now is not the time to support failed strategies.
