After drone attacks on Friday, the Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery in Kuwait caught fire, state media report, citing LETA referring to AFP.
The official Kuwaiti news agency, citing the state oil company, reported that "several hostile drone attacks" struck the Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery, causing fires; however, there are no casualties.
The agency noted that firefighters are working to contain the blaze, while "several units of the oil refinery have been shut down."
In a statement, the Kuwaiti army said that air defense forces "are responding to threats from hostile missiles and drones," while state media in the United Arab Emirates reported on "missile and drone threats from Iran."
On Friday morning, Bahrain's Ministry of Interior reported that debris from "Iranian aggression" caused a fire at a warehouse, but it was contained, and no one was injured.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense stated that its forces "intercepted and destroyed" more than a dozen drones in the eastern part of the country and another one in the north within about two hours.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, in a statement published by the Tasnim agency, reported that it launched missile and drone strikes against U.S. forces at Al-Dhafra Air Base in the UAE, as well as against targets in Israel.
In recent days, Iran has intensified attacks on the energy infrastructure of the Persian Gulf, striking oil refineries and the world's largest gas industrial center in Qatar, in response to Israeli attacks on its gas field "South Pars."
