The United States needs to use ammunition in its own interests, rather than sending it to Ukraine. This statement was made by Secretary of War Pete Hegset during a briefing at the Pentagon on March 19.
According to him, the U.S. is still facing the consequences of actions taken by former President Joe Biden, who actively helped Ukraine. He stated that American stockpiles have been depleted, as they were not used in the interests of their own armed forces but were sent to Kyiv.
"And when we look back and analyze any issue we face, it all comes down to the answer: 'it was sent to Ukraine.' Ultimately, we believe that at this point, this ammunition is better used in our own interests, and such a funding bill ensures that we have proper supplies in the future," Hegset noted.
The U.S. Secretary of Defense also stated that on March 19, the country will begin the largest series of strikes as part of the ongoing air campaign against Iran. He announced this during a briefing at the Pentagon.
