The administration of President Donald Trump has miscalculated Iran's capabilities and lost control over the military operation against it.
Democratic Senator Chris Murphy, who participates in closed briefings with Pentagon and White House representatives, wrote about this on social media X.
"It is now completely clear that Trump has lost control over this conflict. He has grossly miscalculated Iran's ability to respond. The region is on fire," the politician made a concerning statement.
Murphy also expressed confidence that the head of the White House has no plan to end the conflict. At the same time, he acknowledged the possibility of its escalation.
Earlier, experts expressed the opinion that Donald Trump made four mistakes in the war against Iran, one of which is the very initiation of hostilities. Among other things, the analysts surveyed mentioned the rising costs for the US, American casualties, and the underestimation of Iran's retaliatory actions.
The head of the White House also stated that he cannot yet announce the timeline for ending the conflict with Iran. He emphasized that the military operation will last "as long as necessary."
