The war in Iran will not turn into a large-scale intervention like it did in Iraq. This confidence was expressed by U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz in an interview with Fox News.

"I am confident that this will not be another Iraq in 2003. There will not be hundreds of thousands of soldiers occupying urban areas somewhere; definitely, that will not happen in Tehran," the diplomat said.

At the same time, he allowed for the possibility of a targeted ground operation if such a necessity arises.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. does not currently plan to conduct a ground military operation in Iran.
