Iranian Foreign Ministry: Tehran has never asked for negotiations with the US and is ready to resist.
Iran has never asked the US for a ceasefire or even for negotiations. This was stated by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in an interview with CBS.
According to him, Tehran is ready to defend itself for as long as necessary. Its resistance will continue until US President Donald Trump understands that he has started an illegal war with no chance of victory.
Araghchi emphasized that his country is stable and strong enough to withstand American aggression. The Iranian authorities protect their people and see no reason to begin negotiations with Washington.
"We negotiated with them when they decided to attack us. So we do not have good experience in communicating with the Americans," the minister stated.
In addition, Araghchi responded to a question about the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. He assured that Tehran is ready for negotiations with countries interested in this matter. According to him, several states have already approached Iran wishing to ensure the safety of their tankers, and Iranian military officials have accommodated them in this regard.
According to the spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Brigadier General Effi Defrin, the Israeli military has thousands of targets in Iran, so strikes on the territory of that country will continue for at least another three weeks. But even after that, Israel will have extensive plans.
