The US Secretary of State informed the foreign ministers of Arab countries that the military operation against Iran could last for several more weeks, Axios reports citing sources.
According to them, Marco Rubio emphasized that the current military focus of the US is directed at Iranian missile launchers, their stockpiles, and production facilities.
He also told Arab ministers that the official goal of the US is not regime change in Iran, but made it clear that Washington would like to see different people in power in the country.
Additionally, Rubio noted that the US currently has no dialogue with Iranian authorities and that any negotiations now could undermine current military objectives.
It is worth recalling that the first strikes against Iran were carried out on February 28.
