Skaisgirytė's advisor: Lithuania is ready to send troops to Iran at the request of the U.S.
Lithuania is ready to send its troops to Iran at the request of the United States. This statement was made by the country's chief foreign policy advisor, Asta Skaisgirytė, as reported by the broadcasting company LRT.
"So far, we do not have such a request, and of course, if we were to receive such a request, we would consider it together with other allies," Skaisgirytė stated.
According to her, Lithuania could provide military assistance to the U.S. in such a case, for example, by sending troops to Iran.
Earlier, Skaisgirytė stated that Lithuania trusts the U.S. 'nuclear umbrella.'
