Netanyahu Calls for Intensified Strikes on Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his intention to intensify strikes on Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his intention to intensify strikes on Iran. The post appeared on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

The politician noted that he met with the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, and the head of Mossad and gave instructions for the continuation of the campaign.

"Yesterday we eliminated the tyrant (Supreme Leader of Iran Ali) Khamenei. Along with him, we destroyed dozens of leaders of the repressive regime. Our forces are now striking at the very heart of Tehran with increasing power, and in the coming days it will only grow," he stated.

One of the main goals of the first phase of the operation by Israel and the U.S. was the elimination of the highest political and military leadership of Iran. As a result of the strikes, the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who had governed the country since 1989, was killed, as well as the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ali Shamkhani, Minister of Defense Aziz Nasirzadeh, intelligence chief Gholamreza Rezayan, and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Abdolrahim Mousavi.

On the morning of February 28, Israel struck Iran and called it "preventive." The attack was confirmed by the country's Minister of Defense Israel Katz.

Later, the President of the United States announced the beginning of a large-scale military operation against Iran. It became known that it was named "Epic Fury."
