Seven people have died as a result of several shootings in Chicago. Trump threatened to deploy troops to the city, RTVI US reports.

Since the evening of June 19, Chicago has been engulfed by a wave of violence. According to the police, at least 7 people have died and another 38 have been injured. The bloodiest incident occurred on the evening of June 19. An SUV drove up to a crowd on one of the streets, and two men inside opened fire, injuring 12 people aged between 17 and 47. Among the dead are a 21-year-old man, a 50-year-old man, and an 18-year-old teenager.

In the wake of the tragedy, Donald Trump again called for troops to be deployed to the city. "I could make Chicago safe in ONE MONTH!" the president wrote on Truth Social. Trump criticized Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker for his unwillingness to ask for help. The Democratic governor, who is being touted as a candidate for the 2028 elections, has repeatedly rejected such proposals.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson called the incident "a horrific act of violence" and promised that those responsible would be held accountable.
