As a result of the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Saturday, high-ranking political figures in Iran were not killed, Iranian leadership representatives stated, LETA reports citing BBC.

President Masoud Pezeshkian is safe, his deputy Mohammad Jafar Kaempana reported on the platform "X".

On the "Telegram" platform, the president's son, Yousef Pezeshkian, stated that this time the "assassinations were not successful".

The army denied the death of its commander, Major General Amir Hatami, while the Fars agency reports that the speaker of parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and the head of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, were unharmed.

Earlier, the Israeli army reported that the targets of Israeli strikes in Tehran were locations where high-ranking political and military officials had gathered.

It was reported that on Saturday, Israel and the U.S. struck Iran, and as a result of the missile attacks, both the capital Tehran and other cities were affected.

Iran retaliated with strikes against Israel, as well as against U.S. military facilities in Bahrain and other countries in the Persian Gulf.
