Bloomberg: EU financing risks jeopardizing U.S.-Poland relations.

The €150 billion arms financing program aimed at strengthening the defense capabilities of the European Union (EU) risks jeopardizing U.S.-Poland relations. This was stated by Slawomir Czenczek, senior advisor to the Polish president on national security, in an interview with Bloomberg.

"Formally, the program is aimed at enhancing Europe's defense capabilities, but in reality, it is a way to gradually turn away from the United States," he said.

As the agency notes, Czenczek's comments reveal tensions in Poland and other EU capitals regarding how far the 'Made in Europe' strategy should go in emphasizing domestic defense production. It is specified that the 'Security Action for Europe' program prioritizes procurement from the EU, although it is open to non-EU countries.
