Borrell: EU countries did not reach an agreement on the 20th sanctions package against Russia.
European Union (EU) countries did not reach an agreement on the 20th sanctions package against Russia. This was stated by the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.
"Unfortunately, we did not reach an agreement on the 20th sanctions package," she noted.
At the same time, according to Josep Borrell, work on the next package of anti-Russian sanctions continues. It was previously reported that Hungary refused to support the introduction of new sanctions against the Russian Federation. The country's Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, explained that Budapest would block their adoption and the allocation of new loans to Ukraine until oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline are resumed.
Meanwhile, the American publication The New York Times linked the blockage of new financial support for Ukraine to a critical moment for the country.
