Former British Prince Andrew, arrested on Thursday on suspicion of committing a public offense, was released a few hours later, reports LETA citing DPA.
Thames Valley Police stated that they continue to investigate Andrew even after his release, but have completed a search of his residence — Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. The search was ongoing at his former residence, Royal Lodge in Windsor, Berkshire.
This month, Thames Valley Police reported that they are looking into allegations that the former prince, according to recently released documents, passed confidential government documents to American financier Jeffrey Epstein.
On Thursday evening, Andrew was seen sitting in the back seat of a car as he left a police station in Aylsham, Norfolk.
The former prince denied any wrongdoing and expressed regret over his friendship with Epstein, but did not respond to specific requests for comment on the situation after the U.S. government released new documents related to the Epstein case.
